West 69 Condominium Development

Calgary, Alberta

SCOPE was retained in 2007 to review landscape architectural and engineering drawings for a feature pond system to be constructed as a central amenity in the courtyard of the West 69 condominium development in the West Springs subdivision, in west Calgary. After reviewing the plans, it was determined that water quality control issues were not being addressed sufficiently, and current technologies water feature designs were not being utilized.

The plan was then reworked to address these issues and was then resubmitted for approval by the Property Developer. After presentation of the revised design complete with costing, we were retained to install the water feature as a turn-key feature of the development. The final installation is compromised of 200 foot of stream flowing through a multi-pond system from a central filtration source. It culminates in an 8 foot wide waterfall, which then tumbles dramatically down over 7 feet into a final pond. The water is then recirculated back up to the primary filtration source using computer controlled variable frequency three-phase power pumps, which also brings a cost effective component to the operational aspect of the feature. The emergent plants in the patented marsh filter technology, gives the water filtration source a natural appearance, while supporting the aesthetics of the feature, and supplying varied habitat for wildlife.

Canmore Projects

Canmore, Alberta

Throughout the Three Sisters development in Canmore, Alberta you will see a litany of projects with SCOPE’s fingerprints on them. We have been retained on various condominium design packages which in many cases included full range construction drawings and a number of specialized residential packages with unique features that can only be created by the rugged terrain throughout the town.

In most cases we were also retained to construct projects both of our own design and others. With our specialized equipment and vast experience in tough working conditions we have created a handful of incredible projects throughout the valley. With an emphasis on natural rock work and detailed drainage designs these projects are great representation of our focus on quality built landscapes. Most notably the Timberline condominium which won the best commercial landscape construction project in Canmore 2009 and a private home that won an award for best residential water feature 2006.
